Taiwan Passes Law Creating Food And Drug Administration

Executive Summary
Taiwan's legislature passed a bill creating a new agency with responsibility for the safety of drugs, food and cosmetics. The Taiwan Food and Drug Administration in the Department of Health is to have the responsibilities previously handled by separate bureaus within the DOH. They include the Bureau of Pharmaceutical Affairs, Bureau of Food and Drug Analysis, Bureau of Controlled Drugs and the Bureau of Food Safety.
