Chinese authorities expect to have a vaccine against the A/H1N1 flu virus ready for inoculations by the end of July. They are counting on receipt of the strain in early June from the World Health Organization directly to drug makers, who are required to produce one following strict WHO protocols. The WHO had said slower-than-usual growth of the virus in laboratories meant the strain would not be available earlier than mid-July.
