Tokyo-based Nippon Kayaku and Kyukyu Pharmaceutical will start a Phase II trial in 2010 for NKQ-01, a fentanyl-containing oral patch for cancer pain relief. A Phase I trial conducted in Europe in 2006 has shown promising results. The two are aiming for a 2015 market launch. (Click here for more - Japanese language)
