Vietnam Gets Price-Cut Promises From Austria, French Drug Makers

Vietnam says Austrian and French pharmaceutical companies have agreed to reduce the prices of the drugs they sell in Vietnam. Ebewe Pharma of Australia and Les Laboratoires Servier of France notified the Vietnam Drug Administration they would reduce the prices of antibiotics and drugs for treating cancer, diabetes and heart diseases. The promised reductions covered 16 of Ebewe Pharma's 31 cancer drugs, some by as much as 12 percent. Servier promised a 7 percent reduction in the prices for two diabetes and heart drugs.
