Bayer AG is expanding its investment in the US, focusing particularly on its health care businesses. It plans to spend $5.1 billion on pharmaceutical research in the next 4-5 years in the US, adding 200 scientists and building a huge new facility near its existing labs in Connecticut. Some of the money will go to outside companies, as well.
