Pseudogenes Regulate The Tumor Suppressor PTEN: One Of Many Functions?
This article was originally published in Start Up
Executive Summary
New research shows that a network of long noncoding RNAs is at work to regulate expression of the important tumor suppressor gene, PTEN. The scientists also show that drug resistance might be mediated by these RNA transcripts of so-called pseudogenes, offering up useful drug targets for sensitizing tumor cells to chemotherapy.
