Intraocular lens maker eyeonics brought in $16.2mm through a Series E financing led by new investor Versant Ventures, with participation from all returning investors: Brentwood Associates, Pequot Private Equity, ABS Ventures, and Entrepreneurs Fund. The company will use the money to expand sales of its crystalens device, an intraocular lens approved in 2003 that moves backwards and forwards with the eye's muscles to allow for a more continuous range of vision.
