But Nucana's new CSO is Professor Chris McGuigan, the man behind ProTides, a technology used in drugs such as Gilead Sciences' Sovaldi (sofosbuvir). Here he tells Scrip what prompted him to cut down on his academic commitments for the first time in his career to take up a management position at a little-known oncology firm.
